WELCOME TO
ICONIC WOMEN
MULTIMEDIA EXPERIENCE

Set in the historic Palazzo Mazzarino, this innovative artistic journey explores pop icons through the vibrant lens of the Sicilian artist. Domenico Pellegrino reimagines with light and color, iconic female figures who have left an indelible mark on the collective imagination.

A standout piece is his luminous tribute to Franca Florio, inspired by the "Queen of Palermo." While Giovanni Boldini’s famous painting captured her aristocratic elegance, Pellegrino brings her modern vitality to life through his signature Sicilian luminaries and augmented reality, bridging past and present. Another highlight is a luminous portrait of Santa Rosalia, celebrating 400 years since the discovery of her relics, honoring the city's patron saint with a blend of tradition and innovation.

The exhibition, featuring eleven iconic women, concludes with a statue of Wonder Woman, a symbol of female empowerment. Thanks to augmented reality, visitors can interact with the artworks, enriched by the voices of notable Sicilian women in entertainment. This multisensory experience celebrates the female figures who have shaped cultural memory.

Domenico Pellegrino

who exhibited at the 2019 Venice Biennale, is celebrated for his unique ability to merge tradition with innovation. Known as the “artist of light,” his works reimagine Mediterranean culture through contemporary lenses, employing the vibrant lights typical of Southern Italy’s patronal festivals.

A genius hand that often transcends into sculpture. Pellegrino's works—the famous Superheroes, the symbolic Mediterranean Cosmogony immersed in the waters, the Human Odyssey project for Hermès, and collaborations with Dior, MaxMara, and Disney—are created using artisanal techniques passed down through generations, reinterpreted with a postmodern language.
